STORY
The merino sheep moved like a flowing veil across the rugged mountainside, the sheepdogs working silently, guiding them with incredible precision. Nearby, wild horses stood still, mesmerised by the scene, just as we were. I could almost feel the weight of those early mornings from my childhood, the crisp air on my face, as my siblings and I helped move our flock, though the sheepdogs always did most of the work. But here, high in the mountains, everything felt different. The late sun bathed the landscape in a warm glow, creating a backlight so exquisite it seemed to stop time. The wild horses watched, captivated, their stillness adding to the moment’s magic. We stood there, part of the scene, breathing in the cool air, the quiet around us filled only with the soft rustle of hooves on the earth. It was a moment where past and present intertwined, suspended in the fading light.
